About the Upper Cumberland Grotto

Welcome to the web pages of the Upper Cumberland Grotto

These pages contain information on the policies, membership and activities of the Upper Cumberland Grotto, an internal organization of the National Speleological Society (NSS). More importantly, they contain a lot of information that can help you explore caves more safely and with minimum impact on this limited resource. If you are new to organized caving, additional links relating to caving, conservation and speleology can be found at the home page of the NSS, but there are plenty of things to look through right here.

The Upper Cumberland Grotto is located on the campus of Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee, surrounded by the beauty of the Upper Cumberland area. If you enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, you might be interested in learning more about the National Park Service or perusing the Great Outdoor Recreation Pages
